George White Motors Limited has closed eight outlets in the United Kingdom and all personnel, including 22 in Plymouth, made redundant.

Former owner Mike Grainger, who sold the business in a range of George White Motors Limited for an undisclosed sum in 2010 but stayed to work in sales, abandoned the trip to Geneva today to hold talks with administrators of business advisers Deloitte.

The company, which has been in business for over 50 years, appointed Richard Hawes and Robin Allen of financial services firms, Deloitte, the administrators of the past week.

Pair said that the company does not have the funds available to them to be able to keep trade and allow them to search for that sale as a going concern. Some 61 employees made ​​redundant in their commitment, with the nine were detained to assist in the administrative process.
